Caring for people with acquired brain injury and their families.

Programs—key roles of Headway Gippsland

Promotes the development and maintenance of appropriate skills in accessing the community by using recreational activities as a model of best practice.

Groups are located in Central, West, South & East Gippsland, and meet weekly or fortnightly.

Provides a comprehensive information and referral service to meet the needs of the individual.  The service promotes and supports the person’s independence in their own home.  Families, carers and the community are encouraged to participate within this program.

Headway Gippsland Inc. is a Department of Human Services accredited service provider for:

· Individual Support Programs and Futures for Young Adults Program

Accredited Service Provision has also been gained for:

· Work Cover Rehabilitation Programs

· TAC clients

Care Coordination and Management.

This is a brokerage service that can be purchased by other organisations.

This program provides family carers with respite on a Saturday or Sunday each month.  The person with an ABI is able to choose a community access activity of interest they can attend.  Bookings are essential.
